The Florida Marlins really know how to make a “Bark at the Park” night special.
On May 2, fans got to bring their dogs to Dolphin Stadium to watch the Marlins beat the San Diego Padres. They also got to catch Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson, and a yellow Labrador Retriever film scenes for “Marley & Me.”
The first scene took place in the stands, with the Lab racing up and down the aisles followed by Aniston and Wilson.
After the eighth inning, Wilson and Aniston appeared again, chasing the dog in left field as the players exited and entered the field. The scene, which lasted about a minute, ended when Wilson and Aniston caught up with the dog.
“It’s kind of weird to see a movie going on,” Marlins left fielder Luis Gonzalez told MLB.com.
“I didn’t really know it was going to happen then. If I did, I probably would have run out there a little faster and jumped in front of Owen Wilson, and handed it off to her,” Gonzalez says. “What were they going to do, kick me off the field?”
“Marley & Me” is set to be released on Christmas Day.
