The South Shore Art Center’s Arts Festival in Cohasset, Mass., is going to the dogs – literally.
The popular annual event – now in its 53rd year – will offer treats just for them, including professional portraits by Art Center photographers and one-of-a-kind doggie fashion accessories.
“We all know that dogs and pets are on everybody’s radar screen,” says Bonnie Jernigan, the center’s publicist for the Arts Festival.
Boston-area crafter Heather Regan will be on hand to sell handmade designer collars and leashes, including tartan collars, collars with nautical stripes, and the “chocolate diamond collar.”
Art Center photographers will take 8-by-10-inch photographs of attendees’ dogs for $20, which goes to support the Art Center, which is funded in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. The festival is held every year on Cohasset Common, a quintessential New England village green.
The South Shore Art Center’s Arts Festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sat., June 14 and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. A donation of $5 is requested for entry. For more information, visit www.ssac.org
