Kathleen Turner Says Nicolas Cage Stole a Dog

The actress accuses former costar of stealing a Chihuahua in her upcoming tell-all book.

Kathleen Turner makes some explosive accusations in her upcoming autobiography, “Send Yourself Roses,” including one that former costar Nicolas Cage stole a dog, according to excerpts published in Britain’s Daily Mail.

Turner starred with Cage in “Peggy Sue Got Married,” which was directed by Cage’s uncle, Francis Ford Coppola.

“Everything Francis wanted him to do, he went against to show that he wasn’t under his uncle’s wing. Which was ridiculous. Oh, that stupid voice of his and the fake teeth! Honestly, I cringe to think about it. He caused so many problems,” Turner writes. “He was arrested twice for drunk driving and, I think, once for stealing a dog. He’d come across a Chihuahua he liked and stuck it in his jacket.”

Cage was quick to deny the charges through his publicist. “While I recall Kathleen Turner being a great lady and wonderful actress, the credibility of her biography and her memory is at stake … Fact credibility should have been exercised on [her] part,” he said.

Turner also picks a fight with her “Switching Channels” costar, Burt Reynolds, in the tell-all.

“[That] was my unhappiest experience as an actress … For whatever reason, the first thing Burt said to me was: ‘I’ve never taken second billing to a woman,’” Turner writes. “Oh, every day there were nasty little digs.”

Reynolds’ representative had no comment.

“Send Yourself Roses” hits bookstores Feb. 7, 2008.

Could it all been an incredibly cunning ploy, set up between Turner and Cage, to shift more copies of her book?

I agree with Gayle from Denton, TX ... Silly! Silly! Silly! -- They really do need to get a life! Well, I am certain of one thing, Turner's book will not make it to my "wish list."
