Nicolas Cage is suing Kathleen Turner for defamation, libel, and slander in a British court over allegations she made in her autobiography, “Send Yourself Roses.”
Turner alleges in the book that, among other things, Cage behaved poorly on their “Peggy Sue Got Married” set, was arrested for drunk driving, and stole a Chihuahua.
Cage’s spokesperson in Los Angeles said the legal action followed “false allegations that appear in a forthcoming autobiography.” The suit was launched in British courts because the book has already gone on sale there.
“As legal proceedings have been commenced, it would be inappropriate to comment further,” Cage’s spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for Turner said the actress would not be commenting on the case “at this point in time.”
