Nonprofit Launched to Help Homeless Dogs

The American Pet Cross was created to assist pets in need and supplement existing animal-related organizations.

A new nonprofit organization formed to provide aid to animals and their owners during times of disaster, disease, abuse, and abandonment officially launched last weekend in Charlotte, N.C.

The American Pet Cross (APC) aims to supplement and advance efforts already in place with organizations such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

“We believe APC can help these organizations dedicated to providing support for animals and their owners,” said Dan Taylor, founder of the nonprofit. “To hear of the differing diseases, abuse, and other hardships encountered by these animals is heartbreaking. As a multiple pet owner myself, I am very passionate about my love of animals and look forward to introducing the launch of APC’s efforts to help them.”

APC is coordinating a program in an effort to promote adoptions of older pets and are attempting to develop “rescue camps” to house homeless animals. In addition, APC is attempting to establish a “Registered Pet Offender” list to name those who have been convicted of animal abuse. The APC has plans to expand and open chapters of the organizations in various cities.

Thank you for this news!Especially the Pet List of Offenders. That should prove a great asset in
cruelty investigations & convictions. My prayers
& hopes are that this is something that will continue to grow & spread over the entire USA.
