the solution worked really well on my 90lb shepard, rott mix. he got sprayed at 5:30am, didnt get a chance to give him a bath till 10pm that didnt work so well. i let him dry off b4 i let him out for the last time b4 bed time, and bam he got him again. this time i used your solution and he smells alot better just a little smell around his face. also had to sprinkle carpet powder around the house and fabrez the couches but all is almost good (p.s. brusheing him after he dryed helped alot with the smell)

My bulldog got sprayed right in the middle of his forehead. I used the hydrogen peroxide/baking soda mixture. I was amazed at how well the mixture worked. I also bought one of the enzyme products, just to be sure, because he is an inside dog. It seemed like my dog's dad loved being sprayed & he would almost have to wear it off. Thanks for the advice.

My 80 pound golden-doodle was sprayed by a skunk last night. All our skunk stuff was at the cottage. I somehow found a site that I can't find now, that suggested toothpaste. I had lots of toothpaste. We put him in the garage, massaged toothpaste all over him. He looked like aqua dog. Put him in the shower and rinsed it off and then shampooed him. He smelled great! Safe for him and WORKED. He went swimming today and no smell of skunk at all. This is the BEST treatment!!

Wow! This really works! My lab-shepherd mix "found" a skunk over the 4th of July weekend while we were out of town. I hoped it would go away on its own, but no luck. I found this solution and read all the success stories so I gave it a try. As soon as I started pouring the peroxide solution on, the odor went away! Thank you very much!

Last night my house dog(my child to me) was sprayed by a skunk. I called him in and emediately he began rubbing his face and body all over a lg. piece of area rug . The smell was totally overwhelming! I put him in the bathroom, shut the door and Googled the problem and found your solution. I didnt measure the ingredients... just poured everything on him and shampooed it all in his long hair. He (thank god},smells better but my house stinks and dont know what to do to to remove the smell out of the carpet. Thank you sincerely for putting the info. out there for me to see. sincerely, Donna Anderson.

One thing to note is that the peroxide/baking soda mix will bleach your dogs hair if left on in the sun. My Katie - a black border collie mix - now has chocolate brown highlights! But she doesn't stink anymore and her coat feels great. This remedy works great.

5:30 am Sonny the German Shepherd was sprayed by a skunk, he's a house online and read this. Had him in the bath by 6 am - bathed in it again at 9 am and rinsed again at 9:30 - much much better, but may have to do it again. It's raining cats and dogs outside now, so we are going to play frisbee in the rain to rinse some more!

Our golden retriever took a shot in the neck from a skunk and we were able to apply this remedy within a half hour. We left it on a bit longer than stated (about 20 minutes)and were amazed at the results. He does not smell at all!

I tried peroxide, tomato juice and baking soda. All it does is spreads the skunk oil and the smell. Dog shampoos masks the odor temporarily. Veterinarians use Doggicleen Skunk Spray. It works!

The question about how to get the smell out of her townhouse is a good one. Even though she meant it to be funny, it is a real problem and I'd like to know the answer. My house has smelled for three days now!
