I think Barack Obama Shouldn't be asking the public what dog breed to
get.
Choosing a dog is like choose
family.
It should be done by the Family and the family only

Either a schnauzer or a Wheaten because they don't shed, and one of his daughters is allergic. Both breeds are great!

I think he needs to get a dog of his choice but for me it would be a Siberian Husky

I think a nice little nipper yapper will do the family just fine. They can hire Czer salad to spray off the nipping and yapping and I am sure the housebreaking will become an issue as well.

I have a pound puppy and I must be the luckiest person in the world finding my dog Scooby Blue. Blue is a Labordoodle, it's amazing what kind of dogs you can find at the local pound. He's the funniest dog I have ever had or know. Blue can make me laugh when times get tough and
stressful.
I am so lucky to find him.

Well, we raise miniature schnauzers. But he does not want a small dog. So my next large terrier(hypoallergenic) is a Irish Wolf Hound. A large, magestic breed. Perfect for the hole family, and the white house. And there are many rescue centers for the breed.

I think a Hairless Chinese Crested would be a great dog for the Obama's and the girls could dress it (hopefully a female) in all kinds of great clothes, do it's hair, and I can just see them and the Crested attending a dinner with Heads of State and their dressed like a Princess Baby Dog. They are wonderful for people with allergies (I have allergies to dogs and cats, but own 3 Cresteds.) They love to play, have lots of energy, love to be loved and pampered, and are very intelligent! There are Chinese Crested Rescues that I am sure could find the "perfect" baby for the girls to love. That way, they would be rescuing PLUS have a non-allergic dog! Maybe they could adopt TWO!!!!

Dear President Elect and Mrs. Obama ~ Whatever breed of dog you choose, I'd advise you attend Dog Obedience Classes and include the girls too. It's lots of fun and training a dog in a positive manner to learn good behaviors is a plus for all involved. My Weimaraner fell in love with Westie Terrier at "puppy classes" so maybe he knows something about the breed I don't!
