They are great with kids and even better with smaller animals and babies. I have pictures to prove both statements. They just got a bad wrap from the wrong kind of owner. Jessica Kansas City, MO 3/16/2008 8:03:26 AM I have been the proud owner of an APBT and an American Staffordshire Terrier for a total of 7 years. If you take the time to educate yourself about the breed, you will find that they are wonderful dogs! It breaks my heart that some people use their natural tendencies to please to turn them into weapons. We live in an area where Breed Specific Laws are predominant. I believe BSL's take the accountability away from the owners and places them on the animals-which is simply ridiculous! The most effective thing we can do, as bully breed parents, is to continue to use our own dogs as examples of how loyal, loving, humorous these animals are rather than the killing machines the media constantly portrays them to be.

Denise Oaklyn, NJ 2/25/2008 6:13:06 AM I love all APBT! I adopted a blue pit and he is the absolute best dog! He is very well behaved and a wonderful ambassador for his breed. He is one of the most well behaved dogs in the neighborhood and people are surprised about that. It just goes to show the negative stereotype associated with this breed. Good thing there are many of us out there that know the truth and are informing people!

Our family continues to share our love for the breed by fostering for the rescue as well. They are great family dogs, and desire all the love and respect they can get!
