You mentioned the •Italian Greyhound but you forgot to mention the Whippet and Greyhound. Both of those breeds are very light shedders. Infact thats why we got our whippet in the first place.

Salukis don't shed. Just a hair here and there. And they don't have to be trimmed.

My Brother and his family have a Labradoodle that is very low-shedding. She does not cause any allergy problems and previous pets have done so.

For twenty-three years I had Cairn Terriers and chose them because a vet told me they do not shed. This is so true. One of my Cairns was Wheaten color (very light blond hair) and even if he sat on my lap when I was wearing black slacks he left no hair behind when he jumped down. Besides not shedding, they are the most wonderful dogs!

I was under the impression that smooth dachshunds don't shed. Ours certainly didn't, and we had several over the years.

@Ron - Thank you for your post. We have listed Labrador-Poodles because while some do shed, there are many that are considered non-shedding or low-shedding. The shedding is dependent on whether the dog has the hair traits of the lab, poodle, or both.

was looking for info re non shedding dogs, you list labradoodle. poodle/labrador as non shedding. Wrong! I have one, they shed almost as much as a full lab. get your facts straight.thx

For the last 28 years I have had a Cairn in my home. (three different dogs) and none of the three have ever shed. Their hair will come out when you brush them, but not on the furniture and etc.

I have a hard coat Giant Schnauzer. He sheds like crazy!!!! I have given him no shed treatments and his coat is very healthy and shiny, yet he constantly sheds. So not all Schnauzers are non shedding.

not a fair depiction of Cairn terriers. Yes, they shed LESS than many breeds, but to say the do not shed is very misleading. You WILL find some dog hair around the house. I show and breed cairns.
