not a fair depiction of Cairn terriers. Yes, they shed LESS than many breeds, but to say the do not shed is very misleading. You WILL find some dog hair around the house. I show and breed cairns.

I have a silky terrier and she sheds a lot, could she be part of another breed?

I have Havanese (purebred) and they shed. Don't believe it when you are told they don't. THey are the sweetest dogs and get along with anything and everything too.

I know people who have Labradoodles & Goldendoodles, & some of them shed, but
some
don't. I think when you are mixing breeds it's

up for grabs which breeds dominant traits
your
dog will inherit.

If a Labrador retriever-Poodle mix doesn't shed, then please help us understand why our Labra-doodle (wavy hair)sheds a lot, almost regardless of the
season.

This is a good site but would be better if pictures of the various dogs were included along with a brief description of size etc.

We had several Skipperkes as house pets when I was growing up. They require frequent brushing to get the dead undercoat hair, but if you do that, they don't shed.

My friend has a westie and it's my understanding that breed suffers from a lot of allergies. The symptoms usually manifest in their skin with flaking and rashes. The poor guy is always scratching himself and subsequently he sheds a LOT of hair and dander...

Great article... My 10 year old Giant Schnauzer, Maggie, is so wonderful! She doesn't shed at all (it's like human hair with an undercoat) and I have her groomed 3 times a year. I love all dogs, but I will never own one that sheds ever again!

Great info, thanks. Seeking for a dog that won't shed as much. I'm one who doesn't care for dog hair in the house but love animals.

I had a wonderful Shih Tzu for 15 years and he rarely shed anything but a single tail hair. Certainly less than most humans. Couldn't have b een a better dog.

There's the puli on there, but if you are looking for a larger dog then there is the Komondor (a large white herding dog) that looks very similar to a giant mop, with more energy.

Whichever dog you guys choose, I'm glad you are doing research, :). Keep asking question, and best of luck.
