Long Beach, CAhas lots of Dog Parks and Dog Activities. Even a Dog Beach! Also, Doggie Day Care is a big help, and lots of fun for "Winston".

Least friendly dog place I have ever lived. Cannot take dog to park or hiking on the many trails in our town.

I moved back to Columbus, OH from Arlington, VA and it is depressing how unfriendly this town is to dogs. I got so used to taking my dog everywhere, and now I am very limited on where I can take my dog. Even the state parks restrict what trails we can go and hike on. I really wish they would work to make this a much friendlier place.

The City of Troy, Ohio is a growing Dog-Friendly town. A new dog park will soon become a reality. The City has budgeted 1/3 of the cost, along with one organization chipping in 1/3, and we have applied for a grant to complete the final 1/3. If we are unsuccessful with the final 1/3, the City will still create the dog park; however, some of the aminities may not be there. Also, the Mayor has made proclamations each year for an annual event, "Yorkie Fair", and he truly supports this event. Each year there is a big dog show at the Miami County Fairgrounds that is located in Troy. The City provides medical and police services for this event. There are veterinarians that truly care about dogs, and have emergency hours so that if your dog becomes ill in the middle of the night, they are there for them. I have seen this first hand with my little dog and Stoney Ridge Veterinarian Clinic. When you go through the drive-thru at the banks, pharmacies, restaurants, they always give your dog a treat. Tim Horton's even gives your furry friend a "Tim Bit", and Culvers had tasty frozen custard that my little one truly loves. In the summer, we really enjoy sitting in their picnic area and sharing a frozen custard. Troy, Ohio USA is truly a dog-friendly town that Anna (my yorkie) and I enjoy living in.

Moscow Idaho, is really working on becoming a dog friendly town. We are always coming up with something new to involve our beloved dogs.

This article brings up some really good questions. Soemties I hear about events, dog parks or places you can take your dog off-leash, but I'd like to know more. Where can I find out more about popular pet friendly places?

Atlanta is NOT a dog friendly town. Too big, too regulated, and gross parks that don't have to be maintained often.

Kokomo Indiana - a community of about 60,000 is a dog - friendly town according to the quiz. Even better, this small city has not one but TWO dog parks! Last year we even had a Pooches in the Pool event at the closing of the local swimming pool. We are all ready planning our doggie carnival for May 21, 2011.

D.C. metro has lots of dogs, but not so many dog-friendly business. A missed entrepreneurial opportunity.
