Banfield, the Pet Hospital and the Banfield Charitable Trust are teaming up with the Meals on Wheels Association of America to feed seniors’ pets through the holiday season.

Banfield is conducting a pet food drive for its 2007 Season of Suppers campaign, where pet food will be delivered to seniors’ homes along with their regular Meals on Wheels deliveries. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) is this year’s official spokesman.

“For many elderly Americans, their pet and their Meals on Wheels volunteer are the only friends they interact with during the day,” Wyden said. “I deeply appreciate Banfield, the Pet Hospital and my friends at Meals on Wheels for teaming up to keep pets healthy so they can give their human companions many years of friendship and good health.”

The Season of Suppers campaign ends Dec. 31, 2007. Pet food may be donated at any of Banfield’s pet hospital locations. To find a drop-off location near you, click here.

Wonderful idea because many seniors probably do without in order to feed & take care of that special friend. That is just wonderful & the spirit of the season is truly felt...
