Thank Your Vet Contest Begins in June

Dog owners can nominate their veterinarian to be recognized as one of America’s best.

Posted: May 23, 2008, 5 a.m. EDT

Is your vet the best around? Help him be recognized as one of America’s best. Morris Animal Foundation is looking for America’s best veterinarian with its second annual Thank Your Vet for a Healthy Pet Contest.

The nationwide essay contest, which runs from June 1 to Aug. 31, is sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and CAT FANCY and DOG FANCY, published by BowTie Inc., and the corresponding websites CatChannel.com and DogChannel.com.

Submissions can be no longer than 300 words and should address four areas:

  • The veterinarian’s outstanding care and treatment of clients.
  • Commitment to the human-animal bond.
  • Service to the community.
  • Devotion to the veterinary profession.

“Last year’s contest was a huge success with more than 1,000 nominations submitted,” says Patricia Olson, DVM, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of Morris Animal Foundation. “We are delighted that Hill’s Pet Nutrition has joined us this year as the official corporate sponsor. We are also very pleased to have the BowTie publications returning as our media sponsors. We received many nominations last year from their readers.”

For contest details, call 800-243-2345 or visit www.thankyourvet.org. To read about last year’s winners, click here.
