every since we had our dog martha microchipped, she has lost almost all her hair and is constantly itching. i never gave it a thought untill my brother brought it up. the vet has no clue what is wrong , the only thing they say is she is allergic to something. it has to be the chip. i have not got the money to get it out and so i am gonna have to put her down to releive her suffering. ohh and she has 2 of them in her cuz the first one got lost in her. it is the only thing i have left. we have had martha for 11 years and we are gonna be very devastated to loose her but i dont know what else to do.

I only microchip if necessary,or if we want to identify mix breed dogs (why take a chance). Tattoos work just as well fro identification purposes if you are dealing with registered purebreds.

I have never micro chipped because I had heard that there were so many different kinds out there, and that not everyone had the right scanners. Maybe, I will rethink getting them done.

I'm glad that they are finally letting the public know more about microchips. Now maybe more people will get them and their pets will be found if lost.
