Judy Bangor, MA 6/28/2010 11:38:45 AM Enjoyed the interview- luved the book! The way life should be for our four legged friends- Reading this I felt that sense of freedom, spirit and unconditional love that dogs want and need............. It would be a better world if they all could know a life like Merles'
Kim St. Joseph, MO 5/18/2010 9:42:41 PM Ted's book will change the way you think about dog behavior, genealogy and health forever. The story is heart-wrenchingly touching, full of detail about dogs in general, and Merle in particular. Ted's love for Merle is evidenced by the careful note-taking he made about this dog's life; he extrapolates it to how dogs learn, grow and experience fulfilled lives.
Tom Waynesboro, PA, PA 10/5/2009 5:05:31 AM Merle's Door is easily the best book ever written about a dog. Not only did Ted Kerasote capture and express the true spirit of friendship with "man's best friend" but he also helped me mourn the death of my beloved Bandit. What a great story - what a tremendous author!!!
Anne Clearwater, FL 9/24/2009 10:53:05 AM I would love to see Ted do a TV series. His empathy with and insight into a dog's mind would enhance the lives of all dogs and their owners. Dog Whisperer is quite popular but I feel that Ted brings more compassion and understanding from the dog's point of view.
Odalys Rocky Mount, NC 9/14/2009 6:57:39 PM Wonderful book about the bond between humans and dogs. With the beautiful scenery and touching story, it would make a great movie.
Vicki Massanutten, VA 4/29/2009 9:02:46 PM Merle's Door is not only the best dog book ever written but indeed one of the greatest books ever written. Ted Kerasote is the most gifted story teller of our day and Merle, undoubtedly, a dog whose message has paved the way for happier lives for all dogs whose people read this book. It is a must read!
Mark Frankfort, IL 2/19/2009 7:31:47 AM The best dog book I have ever read. I hope he writes more, as all of his books are well worth reading.
Rebecca Louisville, KY 1/3/2009 11:18:43 AM I wish we could see both person's faces, but it was very nice to hear the voice behind this author. As to the book, I would recommend it to anyone who loves dogs. But beware, in a world of quick reads, this is an insightful, intelligent read that most of us with animals know, but have yet to read in another's words. I recommend to anyone to open your heart and your mind to Merle.
Barbara Olympia, WA 11/4/2008 8:45:40 AM I loved the book. It was so good I really wish I could have meet this Merle. This was the best book I've ever read about human and canine love. I too love my dogs very much. And they let me know when they need there own space.
Claudette Gatineau, QC 2/28/2008 12:55:05 AM Found the first book long in the tooth....no pun intended...not going for a second.
