I hate pitbulls. My dog has nothing in common with the ugly and stupid things but she is the best dog ever.Iam a total cat hater and persians are my least favorite of my least favorite, but i love dogs and iam more fond of persians than these stupid mutts.Mutt is usually foul language to me.

The pit bull is my absolute favorite breed in the whole world. My very first dog was as pit bull and I got him when I was two weeks old. He since past and I've gotten two more and they are just the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. My 2 and a half year old niece rides them, pulls their ears, cuddles with them, and feeds them right out of her tiny hands and they are just as gentle as they can be. It really upsets me when people say they are dangerous dogs just because of part of their reputation. Back before they were used for fighting they were actually used as nannies to watch over the infants at night. My goal in life is to educate as many people as a I can about this great and loving breed. And if I can then I just want to tell those few people they missed out on a very rare opportunity to have the most loyal and loving dog they will ever own.

We had a beautiful male brindle who got shot (and killed) by our landlord.

We went to town for most of the morning on april 5, 2012. when we got home we found a blood trail coming from under the boat and out to the end of the drive way where the trail ended. the boat was under the car port. we looked under the boat and seen splatters on the boat and trailor and two puddles of blood. We checked the back yard and noticed Omega and his tie out (the ground was wet and he pulled the whole stake was pulled out of the ground) was missing. we yelled for him, asked neighbors if they had seen him and everyone said no. then we noticed that the landlord had left a note on the door to let us know the rent was due. so we wen to his house and asked if he had seen any blood at our house when he was there, he answered "no" but said he had seen the police there. then we told him that we couldnt find our dog and think someone had killed him and carried him off. all he replied with was "those bull dogs are bad anyways" and "it was bound to happen. they are bad dogs" when we spoke to the police about the situation they said no one from that county had been there earlier that day. a friend who knows Joe (our landlord) said joe had told him that he was worried that we were going to find out that he killed our dog. so we decited to file a complaint to see what we could do about the situation and see if he could get charged with animal cruelity. when the police spoke to joe, he said he tried to tie him back up and Omega growled at him so he shot him in the yard and he ran under the boat to die. the police said they couldnt do any thing about it because he said it was self defence.

So now this is what i need help with. Joe has pet Omega before. Omega has got lose before because of the same reason, and got his chain tangled up on the neighbors porch and the neighbor got him untangled and brought him home. we asked him if he growled at him or anything like he felt threatned and the man answered "no". We have two small children (1 and 2 years old) or could climb all over him, hit him in the face and he would just lay there. omega was about 6 years old. we used to have a cat that he would SNUGGLE with. he was not a bad dog at all but i am afraid if we take him to court the fact that he was a pitt bull that they will believe joe about him growling.

i just dont understand, if it was self defence then why wasnt the dog still laying where he got shot? why did he drag him out from under the boat (where we believe he got shot) and haul him off? why did he lie and tell us he didnt know anything about it? i believe if it was self defense that he could of told us 'hey your dong tried to bite me so i had to shoot him." we would of been upset but we would of been able to burry our dog.

Someone please help me and my family get justice for our lost family

I think you should clarify something that although APBT are very loving dogs to humans that is not so for other animals. Their large game hunting roots have caused these dogs to have a natural instinct to hunt. Similar to Labradors to want to to retrieve and hounds to track APBT want to hunt. As with all terrier or terrier mix breeds they have a pray drive that goes beyond behavioral training and corrections. These characteristics have been breed into them and perfected throughout their development and I see ignorance in not acknowledging their behavioral past. Just because you think you know your dog does not mean they are not capable of returning to their former roots as bull and bear wranglers

American pit bull terriers are the most loyal and loving pet you can bring home. Just like any other breed of dog, if you miss treat or do not train correctly, they will act out. American pit bull terriers are not mean, vicious, scary or threatening. My fiance and I have recently purchased a full breed blue nose pit and i cant say enough how happy we are with him. Anyone with a "stereo type" opinion needs to pick up and book and get edcucated on theses dogs. You will change your opinion with a little reading and quality time.

STOP BSL...We as pitbull owners need to show our communities and our country that is not the
Irresponsible owners and breeders create an unfair perception of american pit bull terriers. We are proud owners of 4 amazing pitbulls whom have never showed aggression towards anyone. The world needs to know that there are huge events that happen all over this world were thousands of Pitbulls and owners come together and not one single fight will break out. The media has done very bad things for our breed and has caused many to be scared or to ban them from there communities. I strongly urge anyone who has the smallest amount of doubt about owning a pitbull or even petting a pitbull to research by book or internet everything about them. I also urge anyone who talks badly about pitbulls whom have not been directly affected, who are basing there feelings about the breed off of the media to look online to see the breeds that have attacked someone and tell me what number on the list the pitbull is...because it is not at the top. I myslef have researched and found that some dog bites have been provoked either by mistreatment, malnutrition or steroids. Please research the breed before adding to the meadia

i honestly hate people who blame pitbulls. its not like they are the only dogs who bite people. i have a 6 year old pitbull, ive had him since he was 1 year old. and out of those 5 years, he has never bitten anyone, and hes great with kids. i do accept that he can sometimes act bad but never to the point of biting anyone. plus dogs dont bite just for the hell of it, they must have a legit reason to do it. like people, we only fight if we are being threatened or made

i also hate dog fighters. if it were up to me and probably all people who read these magazines probably think, if only i could take all of these abondoned and neglected fighting dogs and not fighting dogs. i know i think that everytime i c a dog on the street.

im a freshman college student and my purpose for working hard as a aspiring cosmetologist is to help out my family and some of my money will deff go to helping animals. all kinds of animal organizations will surely get my help. im so inlove with animals that i became a vegetarian. i not going to say it was hard. cuz it wasnt. and im very glad i made that desicion of being a vegan. i def recomend it :D

i think people should quit with BSL and stop blaming the dogs for attacks on people, especially pit bulls. most people don't like them bcuz for one they are always in the news. 75 % of dog attacks are caused by mixed breed dogs like lab mixes. i say if a person cant handle a dog or cant care for it don't get it. i used to own a brown and white male pit bull before he was stolen to breed fighting dogs. he would've never been stolen if it weren't for me . i blame myself everyday for him being stolen. i still look at his pictures hoping and praying he would come back.

APBT's are definately my top favorite breed. I work with many that came into the no-kill shelter I used volunteer at in west Texas. Alot of people fear them and give them a bad reputation (over the decades Rotties, Dobermans, and German Shepherds have went through the same thing). I own a pit mix and he's a great member of the family. I think everyone should get to know the APBT a little bit better.

was very happy with this magazine. APBT are judged by bad people and it is wrong. I'm glad to see more people like me that love the breed and see how loving and wonderful they truly are!!

APBT's do NOT need corrections - NO dog needs corrections if it has been properly trained. Most reputable trainers, behaviorists, and veterinary behaviorists agree that correction-based training is not only obsolete, it can be harmful and actually cause aggression in dogs. Please see the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior's "position statements" page to download their articles on dominance and punishment here: s/archive/2008/02/20/how-to-assess-the-severity-of- -a-dog-bite.aspx

pit bulls get bad rapes due to the owners . any dog can be mean .i had a black mix little soup hound and he was about 40 pounds and that dog would eat you up if tried to do anything to me . now i know people who have and raise and sale pits and they are best dogs . do research on the dog before you tare it down . i wouldnt be so fast to say something bad about a dog that has never been givin a the time of day . people who fight dogs do give pits a bad name that s just it the PEOPLE the only knows what you the owner teach him or her. hey think about this snacks bite ,turtles bite, birds do to . but do you have people giving them a bad name ..
