Sylvia Melville, NY 1/30/2011 7:15:37 AM I, too, got involved with the wonderful Small Paws Rescue and am fostering a senior Bichon who was rescued from a puppy mill in ALA. He came to me scared of everything and everyone. He is now a very loving guy and much loved. That made me a 2 Bichon family. Then Small Paws put out an SOS that they rescued 44 dogs from a hoarder in OK and I fell in love at first sight with them all. I quickly adopted one of them, a 3 year old Bichon who was just as scared as my foster. I am now training her to do agility but she is so very shy. I am working at building up her self-confidence and know I will succeed with her. My Bichons are all beautiful and loving and I thank Small Paws every day for the wonderful work they continue to do.

Elaine Pennington, NJ 12/7/2009 4:43:17 PM You should read this really wonderful book about all the good things adopted dogs can do for us, like even learning how to alert us to a diabetic low blood sugar level or to let an owner know she has skin cancer. Its called Paws & Effect: The Healing Power of Dogs and talks a lot about the wonder of wonderful adopted dogs!
sharon tampa, FL 8/28/2009 7:30:38 AM I am not a foster failure...they just decided to stay with me. All FIVE of them! :) Adopted/fostered 5 Cocker Spaniels (ages from 2 to 14) in the past two years and they are my loves!
Rhonda Jackson, MS 12/17/2007 7:31:12 AM EXCELLENT! I also have failed 'fur-baby foster parent 101' and have ended up with 5 beautiful rescues that have become essential parts of our family. I'm so glad other's fail too! Congrat's on your lovely fur-baby addition.
