Leslie - 233329 Amarillo, TX 3/29/2013 11:08:03 AM I have never had any success using a head halter on any of my Ridgeback dogs. It does not take them long to figure out how to pull with one of them on. I have found that a pinch collar, when properly fitted and used, is very effective and does not hurt my dog.

corinne spring, TX 10/12/2009 2:25:17 PM I live in Spring, Texas and my dog does very well on his hackamore collar. He is 4 years old and a mixed breed of beagle, jack russel and golden retreiver. He looks more like a beagle. He weighs 33 pounds. Where do I get a hackamore collar and leash for him. thank you corinne loewy corinneloewy@gmail.com
SK Somewhere, TX 2/15/2009 8:50:43 PM Truthfully, I don't really agree to Gentle Leaders and Haltis. My dog has always resented them, even with walks and distracting treats. They also caused her to be aggressive, snarling and snapping at the air whenever she reached the end of her leash. She would twist her head so violently, she was in danger of breaking her neck. I baught a pinch collar instead. Although they look evil and cruel, my lab mix actually loves it and will jump with excitment whenever she sees it. If you use a pinch collar right it doesn't hurt the dog. But some dogs, I heard, become aggressive with the pinch collar, just like my dog was when she had the Gentle Leader on.
