Always try and have your crate near an exit. Say little until outside. Try to build up crate time if possible. Have leash ready to put on upon opening crate.

My maltese becomes very aggressive when we want to leave the house without him. How can I get him to change this habit? He wants to bite at times.

My dog is crate-trained but as soon as I let her out of the crate( no emotional hellos) she squats and pees. As soon as she starts I pick her up and put her outside then desanitize the area but she still won't stop peeing.

Crate not working ver well for me. The crate is still a place of constant yelping and barking when we leave the room. Today (week 3) I let her go 40 min before going in and sitting with her again, still very tough yummy treat and all. Now what is interesting is at night - she goes right in her crate and sleeps through the night. Any
tips?

This is a great way to desensitize a dog. Also counter-conditioning works as well!
