Julie Brooklyn, NY 5/12/2011 1:41:53 PM Hello everyone, My now 12-14 year old dog has had diabetes for the past year and he still has excellent vision. I've written a blog that I think will help other dog owners manage their dog's diabetes. My free blog is protecttheeyes.blogspot.com. I think it will help regulate your dog's blood sugar. Sincerely, Julie
Phyllis McCordsville, IN 7/11/2010 2:00:39 PM Good article. I had a Llhasa Apso that developed diabetes at 11+ years of age. He was checked monthly by a vet. and I gave him insulin injections dailey for two years. He did not mind the injections as they were just under the skin in the neck area. He finally became impossible to fix meals he would eat which he needed to do before getting the insulin injection and finally told me it was time to make the sad decision to have him euthanized. His quality of life, for the most part, was good after the diagnosis of diabetes.
