my dog is mixed Jack russel and chuhuahua mix. Lately he has been holding up his back leg, what could this mean he also has been staying in one place for a long period of time, he is only one years old, he is a very play full dog , full of lot's of energy I am scard. I love my dog so much, he has also been shaking his ear but he has no discharge in his ear and it's not red. Does anyone know what this could be. please let me know I am really worried about him.

Chuhuahua's are survivors. They are tiny, but strong, and that is true.

My pup had luxating patellas in both her hind knees and was having such a hard time walking and was in constant pain that we had the surgery done. Nearly two years later she's doing great and acts like a pup again.

Hi this is Abbey-Roses' mom again I emailed about the knee surgery, I see lots of posts but no
responses.
My email is nancy.lucky@sbglobal.net. If any one has any advice for me on the surgery we would appreciate it. I would also like to comment on the pup trainer who rubbed her dogs nose in the dogs feces and urine to house break her. Please STOP this - would you learn from that kind of tretment. I have had 2 chi's and trained them both in one day. We used a litter box with litter made for puppys and took them in there every time we saw them do the circle. You have to spend every second with them but for only a day or two. Then when they understand that you take some of the litter out on the lawn and take them outside or if you live in an apartment I prefer litter boxes to the pee pads and much less cost. Then you associate a word for them mine is "potty potty" and within a week you dog will be trained. I also rewarded them with a treat and praised them. Chi's are one of the smartest breeds and they want to please their owners. So do not rub their tiny noses on poop and pee you could cause them to get an infection. Its not their fault we all have to go to the bathroom. They just need to know
where.
thanks

Do you think that if your dog has the knee laxtating patella (sp?) they should have the surgery. I am a chihuahua who can run and play and my mommy has heart that there are a lot of complications from this surgery and I will get arthritis. Please give us advice as I do not want to do anything so painful and put my baby through this risk if it is not really needed. thansk

my chiwawa had blood in her stool, she is an indoor dog, only 2 years old. The vet desmissed my concern. I am very worried. Is there anything I can do?

Does anyone know the answer to this: My Chi is 8 months old, she just recently had her first heat, and since then her nipples are swollen, is something wrong with her? They dont appear to be bothering her at all, but its bothering me

I was wondering if it is truly necessary for chi's to have boosters. Do chi's fare really well on shots given at one time? I am taking my chi into the vet for boosters and rabies shot, and was kinda worried about giving her boosters and shots all at once because of their small size. I read in dog fancy magazine that it isn't always necessary. Some dogs have reactions.
