My Husky is 4 years and she was borne and raised in Fl. should I have her shaved in the summer to keep her cooler I've read that her coat keeps her cooler in the summer. In the summer months she's only outside in the early mornings or late afternoon.

We just got our husky and she is a 1.5 year old and she hasn't eaten since we got her 3 days ago and we are using the same dog food that the owner before us used not sure what to do? Also, we have two other dogs a black lab (9 year old male) and a cocker spainal (2.5 year old female. Our husky get along with the lab but the cocker she seems to attack the husky every now and again not sure if its jealous or not? How do you know if your husky is happy in your household with the other dogs. Please could anyone help me out.

To Eric in Rancho

Huskies hate the heat. If you have a bed in her crate remove it immediately. All it does is generate more heat. I have found that my husky does best in her crate when she has a small fan blowing on her to help keep her cool and for the noise. Hope this helps

I Have a siberian husky named skye and she is 2 months. we have had her for about 3 days now. She is very well behaved only OUTSIDE of her crate. She hates that crate. When I put her in it she screams bloody murder and tries to escape. The only time she will sleep in it is if she falls asleep outside of it to begin with and i pick her up and put her in the crate. Basically 9/10 times she would rather sleep outside of her crate on the tile floor then sleep on her bed inside of the crate. If someone could give me a tip on ways to make her like to sleep in the crate.

I have a siberian husky she is 8 months old. Her name is Bambi. I am do glad i got her i had been wanting a siberian husky for many years and i happy to have one now. I wouldn't know what to do without her. I got her when she was 4 months old. She was so easy to train. She knows how to sit, give me her paw, lay down and roll over. I taught her myself.

I couldn't imagine stopping my Siberian from digging, those holes are where he lived. (his beds) I used to help him dig them in some of the more preferable places, then when the weather was hot I'd try to keep the soil in his favorite shade holes damp for a cooler place to hang out. (usually under a bush.) I built him a new posh doghouse when he was fairly old but he wouldn't go in it. So; slowly, at about an inch per day I moved the new doghouse over his favorite hole. That worked ! The house had no floor because I wanted him to be able to dig his bed out just the way he wanted it inside the house. The house had two rooms with curtains for doors and a big picture window in the back room which let the afternoon sun shine in during the winter. If he wanted to sleep in our house I was happy to let him and for many years he did just that, but once he became accustomed to his new doghouse, he seemed to develop a preference for it, and spent a good many winter afternoons lying in the sun behind that picture window.

the siberian isn't used for competitive sled dog racing. The samoyed was used for herding not the siberian. The black dogs with the black face markings and the white pips look 'evil'(I think they're cute!) they are a great and hard working dog breed.

I love Huskies! They are the adorablist breed next to a Samoyed. Black and white ones are the best! Nobody should be fooled by their evil face. They are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo- oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo- oo nice! I love you, Huskies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
