Scharese Broken Arrow, OK 2/20/2010 5:57:34 PM Collies are not actually prone to destructiveness, though they do require exercise and attention. Just that they are very respectful of your home and your property once they have be trained (which is easily and quickly done) and they seldom cross that line no matter what. That is not an excuse to NOT put well-deserved time into the Collie. However, they are quite content to follow you about on your daily chores, inside or outside, so interaction isn't always totally needed to be directed only to them specifically. It is very pleasent also to have that furry shadow keep you company on your day's work. They are very patient and understanding of days when you do not have time or you are unable due to sickness and they will lovingly wait for you to walk and play with them. My Collie has been known to lay beside me for many hours when I have been sick or recovering. Whereas any dog can become destructive if not exercised (physically or mentally), I think Collies are one of the few breeds that take a lot before becoming destructive.
