Wendy Schenectady, NY 6/30/2009 10:05:33 AM Great overview of poodle ownership. I have been drawn to this breed since childhood and am to make the commitment.
Austina Almont, MI 9/8/2008 11:15:55 PM Excellent description of the Poodle's... They ARE a very: Loyal, Loving, Caring, Intelligent AND Watchful Dog... Grooming needs ARE constant with the Poodle... I groom all Three of my Toy Poodles: Once monthly for a haircut,(which I groom myself, being a Stylist), Nail Clips, Ears cleaned with solution and (pulling out inner hairs, to prevent ear infections), this I do approx. every 3 days, Cleaning Tear Ducts of the eyes, (daily for best results), Baths 2-3 times per month,(Be Careful! NOT too often, for the Poodle's skin tends to be on the drier side) and Brushing of Coat, (Best if done daily or every other day, to prevent matting). IF YOU DO DECIDE TO CHOOSE THE POODLE, WHETHER BEING A TEA CUP, TOY, MINIATURE OR STANDARD, THE LOVE YOU WILL RECEIVE, IN RETURN, DOES OUT WAY THE TIME AND COST NEEDED FOR THE NECESSARY CARE!!! Best Wishes in Choosing Your Special Breed!!! Austina Frazier, MI
Patricia Bonita Springs, FL 6/10/2008 9:31:48 AM No one article will prepare anyone to be a Poodle Person. I've had the joy of having had 2. One was a little male. Had him from 5 1/2 wks. until he was 17. Then had a female. Both were miniture poodles. The male, Casper, was white. The female, Tasha, was apricot with choccolate tips to ears and nails. She would have been 16 if she'd lived one more month. They each were constant companions and a joy to have as part of our family.
Theresa Jacksonville, FL 5/8/2007 2:11:06 PM You left out two of the most admirable traits of Poodles. Very mild or no odor. No sheding of hair.
