He is fine with my nieces and nephew but scared of the baby and two year old as well as others. He barked at a child in the hall the other day and they threatened to report him. I need help.

carol fremont, CA 3/5/2009 12:48:57 PM I have had my pom for 3 months and i have a tough time catching him. He wont let me pick him up. i have tried treats to get close to him. Hes 3 years old. I think hes wild and unable to be trained. Could I be wrong. He runs around my storage shed and created a visible path. He used to live in a ranch with large dogs.
Jo Pawleys Island, SC 8/4/2007 6:33:29 AM About 4 weeks ago my dog sitter came over to feed Jack (lab mix) and Luke (Springer Spaniel) during a thunderstorm. She let them out and Jack was so frightened that he jumped a 6 ft privacy fence. The sitter called me and I was driving home so asked that they be left inside. Since this experience Jack has been afraid to go outside. When I go to take them outside, Jack looks me in the eye and promptly turns and runs away from me. What can I do to help him overcome this fear?

Janine Phoenix, AZ 2/27/2007 11:05:04 AM This article is helpful and interesting sharing the fears that the other dogs experience as well. My dog Bissli, who is 4, has a terrible fear each time I need to groom him and cut his hair. I do him myself and have tried all that is suggested for the past 2 years but with not much success. He trusts me and feels safe with me but yet continues to shiver and to be stiff with fear. Any suggestions will be most welcome.
Taylet St. Cloud, FL 2/27/2007 10:47:55 AM I love it. Because the owner of the dog can teach your dog to be a little less scared of things. My dog Meatball is the biggest whimp that you will ever meet. I have already tought him, and he is normal now.
