Dan Orange County, CA 1/26/2012 9:40:23 AM I had just bought a puppy and was driving it home through Denver. I was told by Denver police if I was caught with my 8 week old pup driving through Denver they would destroy it. Seriously Denver affraid of an 8 week old puppy? If you banned every animal that bit someone you'd be left with a goldfish. Hopefully people sue and win, punish the deed not the breed. I have 2 pits and they wouldn't hurt a fly it's how you raise them not the breed you should lock up bad owners.

Michele Freeport, IL 3/28/2009 10:16:56 AM It's about time the owners fought back! I have both a Pit Lab mix and a Dachshund and they get along well.Between the two of them,my Dachshund is more likely to bite a stranger!I am sad to see ignorant people get their way when these laws are passed.I hope we can learn to fight back.I wish this family the best of luck with their lawsuit.
Laura church hill, TN 12/26/2008 4:16:34 PM I had one pitbull, but he wasn't enough for me! My husband and children kept stealing him! We got a second pitbull, but that still wasnt enough! Now we have 3 pitbulls! We all go to petsmart and lowes! People love them! People ask what they are, when told they pull back hands & children and look afraid for a second then go back to loving on our babies, always saying "oh my God I thought they were meen" I get mad sometimes, being from the North and now living in the south, I have said something like "yes, well being a Yankee I thought you were all stupid down here, but it turns out it is all in how you are raised. I always laugh but sometimes people just dont get it! I don't care who or what you are it all comes down to who raises you! Hope none of you are living with close minded jerks. ha ha
Annette Stafford, VA 6/27/2008 1:51:05 PM I have a 6 year old female Pit Bull named "Nala", she is the biggest baby!!! I cannot believe people think that just because a dog is a certain breed they are mean. I wish you and your dog the best of luck in your fight for "Pit Bull Rights" !!!!
Sharon Vineland, NJ 12/9/2007 5:02:23 PM I think the saying don't judge a book by is cover comes to mind with this. I have three APBT's and they are the best dogs I have ever owned, the misunderstanding of these dogs us a terrible thing. If anyone took to the time to actually read up on the breed they would find that APBT are one of the most loyal dogs out there and loving for children, regardless of what you here on the news. It is the owner that is control of the dog, just a parent is in control of their child. If you take the time to find out all the facts on an attack, you will problem come back to an owner that is mistreating the dog or training it improperly. Don't forget that it is ALL about the owner not the dog.
Eduardo Midland, TX 5/23/2007 8:43:25 PM I think pit bulls are banned in alot of places because ignorant onwners do not fully understand the power and temperment of an American pit bull terrier. They are one of the most loyal dogs ever and they are also the most neglected dog, I think the owners should take full responsibility for thier dogs actions and not make the dog pay for their masters mistakes. I own an american pit bull and he is the most happiest and loyal dogs I have ever owned he has never shown agression to any one, american pit bulls are not the monsters everyone sees them as. People just dont understand cause thy are scared. I hope this reaches out to people that hate this breed.
Maria Aurora, CO 4/18/2007 5:26:20 PM Any dog can be dangerous, however it really depends on the environment and the training the dog owner gives the dog which determines the out come of how that dog is. Responsible dog owners should not be punished for behaviors of irresponsible dog owners. It's trully a shame that a ban such as the pit bull ban is curently in place. This ban is not the answer, it makes me believe that this is a way of eliminating specific breeds of animals, of course that could be the intentions of the state. I am saddened to see that some people don't understand that a pet is a family member and is treated as such by their owners. Some people are just very narrow minded. Save our animals, this is just the beginning of bans on specific animals.
Heather Seattle, WA 4/12/2007 2:13:54 PM There are far more statistics that cocker spaniels and labradors bite more people that pit bull type dogs do... so the answer is not banning the breed, but dealing with specific individuals and their owners... I am not an owner of a "pit bull type dog" but have many friend that are, and they are very friendly dogs. Punish the deed, not the breed.
Amanda Berks, PA 4/12/2007 7:55:20 AM I am so excited to see people fighting back against this ridiculous and misguided legislation!
Kari Bandera, TX 4/12/2007 6:27:32 AM Unbelievable! I am outraged by this. Owners are responsible for their dogs and should be held accountable. What exactly is a pit bull "type" and who decides this and therefore the dogs fate? And similar mixed breed types? Who decides? This is just another example of individual PEOPLE not being held responsible. To dare to say move or we'll kill your pet is horrific. Not all pit bulls are out of control, and not all pit bull owners are irresponsible. The blanket ban on an entire breed is not only misguided but ludicrous!! SUE SUE SUE the Mile High City!
Lo Frederick, MD 4/12/2007 5:56:18 AM I would move b4 letting anyone seize and euthanize my pit. I wish these type articles had links to more specific info on the laws. These places with the anti-breed bans...how do they classify "pit bull types"? And why are they going after breeds instead of making stricter laws & punishment for all owners?
