This is a very familiar topic. Having recently adopted a shelter puppy who is a good size nine months old now, I scratch my head at my lovely backyard's current moon surface condition. What to do? She has even gone after my potted palms. Perhaps with maturity, more plants and grass may be introduced, but for the meantime I am planning hardscape in the backyard,e.g., patios and such. I plan some hanging potted plants for color and ambiance. I love my puppy and she enjoys the yard.

i learned last year, by planting a vegetable garden in my privacy fenced backyard..that my dogs were eating veggies right off the vines..tomatoes - green beans - and my cantaloupe! but i don't use a bug spray, so they were happier than i was..because i didn't get to harvest any cantaloupe at all! :)
