I just paid an extra $40(tax) on $417 worth of medication(again and again) I don't know how much total tax I've already paid on my $20,000(and still rising)pet hospital care costs. I can see paying tax on food, clothes and other things but these services can take you down finacially. We don't need to tax pet health care.

I do not agree with this idea. Many people struggle to get vet care for their pets and do not need another expense.

This is one more reason that movie stars should stay out of politics.

Remember when Arnie signed a bill to kill shelter dogs and cats within 3 days of their arrival instead of 7 in an effort to generate more state income? He later apologized and said he hadn't read the proposal thoroughly and took the bill off the table after much public outrage. What a creep.

This is ridiculous! The Govenor should be ahsamed of himself! A pet is a child, a dependent. You get a tax break for your dependents. A pet provides happiness - and in todays economy that is in short supply. And you're going to tax us for that happiness! UNBELEIVABLE! SHAME SHAME SHAME!

Unfortunately Arnold is showing his true "Democratic" colors. I hope this does not become a national trend.

Bad Idea! Why is it always tax first? Write the governor and tell him that he should cut the salary and benefits for the legislature

A terrible thing...probably the money would be used for state employee raises. Pets are part of the family. People don't take their pets to the vet enough now and he's going to make it worse! Why not tax humans for sending children to school!

Anyone that loves animals should e-mail the Governor's office and ask him to change his mind. He will if enough of us state the point that our pets are part of our family's and that this will be a terrible time for the General Health of California's animals. People have to get their point across to him. Act Now. I have.

I think that the governator has done a good job with CA's finances but vet care is already too expensive. How are we going to afford to take care of our pets?

I would be ok with a tax increase if the funding went to spay/neuter programs. We pay way too much taxes here in Maine!! We just voted down a tax hike for beer, wine and bottle flavored
I pay a tax on pet Rx at pharmacy! That is crazy it is more that the tax on my medications!!

What! Vet care already cost a fortune, he should be adding tax to it too. Animals should nto have to suffer from human actions.

CA has such big issues with the way money is allocated and spent. Veterinary care should NOT be taxed and spending on education is already so low that it is virtually non-existent. So Arnold apparently thinks that pets and children aren't very important. He should have stuck to acting!
