I a, am animal lover and I think this is a great idea, it's very comforting to have our pets around when we are going through an abusive situation, and to know that we will have a safe place to bring them is important too so we can be sure they are safe. They are like our kids.

I am a women becomeing displaced from my home. I have a 100 lbs yellow lab. Who keeps me from losing my mind. I find comfort in having him in my life. He's been with me since his birth and has hurts, habbit and hang-ups that other people would put him away for doing. He's half artic wolf as well. I find that women who have no children that do have pets in their life when they become displaced become even more down when they leave behind their animal compainions. I know I'm not looking forward to placing my fellow somewhere so I can be indoors next winter. I'm waiting on disablity to come thur.

This is a wonderful idea!! It's SO hard for a woman to take the initiative to take herself & kids to a shelter, but her and/or the kids' reluctance to leave the family pet (& for good reason!) can & will make it feel like an even harder decision.

This is great! We always need to make sure our pets are healthy, happy, & safe.
