Mary Bethany Beach, DE 6/9/2011 6:21:03 PM I am the proud owner of a Cairn terrior named "Lucky " who is 20 years old. He was born March 23, 1991! I am the lucky one!
Diane Fuquay Varina, NC 11/11/2009 11:45:45 PM Awww.. great story! I have a Dachshund/Jack Russell hybrid; she'll be 17 soon. Besides some cataracts, she's doing great. Seeing all these posts about 18 yr+ doxies made my day.
Paulette faul BAton Rouge,, LA 11/5/2009 9:02:16 PM My son told me about this story. We have an 18 year old mixed breed Dachshund who is very healthy, spirited and spoiled. We wish Chanel a long life from Kirby, Baton Rouge, LA.
Kathleen Clifton, VA 1/15/2009 11:14:38 AM What a great article. Today is my dachshund's 18th birthday and I thought he was old. Unfortunately, he's almost blind, deaf and is exhibing some dementia but isn't in any pain and is still a great dog.
Genete Santa Maria, CA 12/25/2008 11:44:15 PM I think this is cool! I know that doxies live a long time & I am happy about it since I have 3 of them. If you take care of them, feed them good food, protect their backs, & give them lots of love, they can live a healthy life. I hope this dog has many more years ahead of it.
Galadriel Lothlorien, ME 12/25/2008 8:26:01 PM Merry Christmas! There are dogs on the DC who lived to 20. The oldest known dog lived to almost 30.
Donna Limington, ME 12/25/2008 10:15:15 AM I wish that my dogs could live that long, so lucky for them!
Anna Maple Grove, MN 12/24/2008 1:24:36 PM How neat! 20 years is alot... and still healthy! I'd also like to see a picture. :)
