tonya Corryton, TN 6/5/2009 5:57:41 AM I'm not surprised considering akc doesn't acknowlege a whole breed. How could they make the list?
rosa pawdale, CA 1/22/2009 2:46:27 PM Yeah i'm surprised Chihuahuas didn't make it, also cocker spaniels.
John Las Vegas, NV 1/22/2009 2:20:22 PM It's not always good for breeds to have this kind of popularity though. Careless "breeders" and puppymillers will breed the most popular dogs to meet society's demands- without screening for health defects and genetics. My dachshund was recently diagnosed with disc disease- she was rescued from a puppymill, and obviously this genetic mishap was passed down to her pups. Please do not breed your dogs carelessly, or others and the animal will suffer.
Natalie Greenbay, WI 1/22/2009 2:04:52 PM Ummm... the picture for this featured article on your website was of a Golden Retriever, not of the Labrador as the caption stated. Please be more accurate, as this is DOGchannel.com. Thank you!
Roberta Wikieup, AZ 1/22/2009 12:25:50 PM Though I have Golden Retrievers now, and have for the last 8 years, I had a Black Lab for 11 1/2 years and she was one of the greatest dogs that I ever had. It's good to see that they are still at the very top.
Anna Maple Grove, MN 1/22/2009 8:39:00 AM Very interesting article. I wonder if any breed will ever be more popular the the lab! :)
