I'm not surprised considering akc doesn't acknowlege a whole breed. How could they make the list?

It's not always good for breeds to have this kind of popularity though. Careless "breeders" and puppymillers will breed the most popular dogs to meet society's demands- without screening for health defects and genetics. My dachshund was recently diagnosed with disc disease- she was rescued from a puppymill, and obviously this genetic mishap was passed down to her pups. Please do not breed your dogs carelessly, or others and the animal will suffer.

Ummm... the picture for this featured article on your website was of a Golden Retriever, not of the Labrador as the caption stated. Please be more accurate, as this is DOGchannel.com. Thank you!

Though I have Golden Retrievers now, and have for the last 8 years, I had a Black Lab for 11 1/2 years and she was one of the greatest dogs that I ever had. It's good to see that they are still at the very top.
