OMG! I've been searching the web for three hours looking for the answer to my question. and here it is. I have a 1 year old pom and her new vet told me she may have a murmur. I came home and checked for myself and started to freak out when I heard the extra heartbeats! I had no idea that she would have extra heartbeats when she breathed in.

Sinus rhythm in humans means normal (regular) heart beat. In dogs it means regularly irregular heart beat as described by the pit bull terrier owner. Thus the term "sinus rhthim" confuses both the human patients and dog owners.
