Shharat Sharma Syracuse, NY 2/24/2009 7:26:22 PM My Irish Setter won 'Reserve Dog of the Year'( All Breeds) in India way back in 1998-99. He then lived a happy and comfortable life with the family till Oct 2007 when he passed away at the age of 14 years. In India, most show dogs are treated well even after their retirement. I feel the activists have got it all wrong.
Anna Houston, TX 2/24/2009 2:41:35 PM Uno does NOT live the life of a cherished show dog!! It has been covered up for almost a year now that Uno lives in a room in a concrete building with 70+ other dogs (mostly mutts). The entire place is covered with urine and feces. The sad thing is that the old woman who contractually owns Uno lives in the same building with a bed (covered with filth) and a TV. The woman has been reported many times to animal control (who keeps giving her dogs to "save", btw) and elder and mental health agencies. She fools everyone by meeting them at her unlived in house and NO ONE ever gets in the dog building. It's sad situation but, it's story that needs to be told.
