Karen Standish, ME 3/29/2009 5:41:46 PM I live in Maine and support stopping Puppy Mills and improper breeding. This law will not stop this. People we continue to breed despite the fees. I would love to see the money go to spay/neuter programs which has proven to work!
julie lewiston, ME 3/29/2009 2:36:20 PM This is quite a hike and they don't really tell you where or what they will do with the money. If they will raise the fees that much the money should all go to the animals to help their welfare.
Amanda Little Rock, AR 3/28/2009 8:11:28 PM When you think about it, it's probably a good idea. The puppy mills are getting out of hand. It was a big deal how many of them there were here not too long ago. Not to mention the dogs that are having to be put down because people can't take care of them in this economy. I was on craigslist the other day and there were so many people just giving their babies away bc they couldn't keep them. It's too sad.
Michele Freeport, IL 3/28/2009 10:07:06 AM This is way too much of a hike.I understand making people pay higher fees for animals they can breed. But some individual pet owners simply choose not to spay and neuter and it is their right.I have a neighbor who does not breed his male dog and it is not neutered, nor has it ever been breed.I think this is totally unfair to raise the price so high.
bertha SAN DIEGO, CA 3/28/2009 9:07:11 AM I think is a lot but, if u are in the breeding process, it is just right! with one pup that they sale they can pay the licence fees, and it is only fear for the animal world!
