HI there, I just got this e-mail today about April being adopt a greyhound month...what a wonderful idea. My husband and I own 2 of these gentle giants, Digger and Junior. We have had them for four years now and what a joy they have been. they get along with everyone and everything, even our cat. We adopted them through Greyhound Pets of America. They are both bigger size greys than usual, 90lbs. and 102lbs, But so easy to handle and so very, very sweet. The love in their eyes when they look at you is just unbelievable. The only hard part about adopting them is trying to figure out which one to choose, but alot of times they end up choosing you. Hopefully with them having a month dedicated to them more will get forever homes. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

I have adopted two greyhounds and they are a sight! They both get along with our four cats and our elderly dog. I've taken one of them to work with me, and everyone loves her. She does not bark, or jump all over anyone. She stands quietly and lets people pet her!

My neighbours adopted a grey and foster others until they find a home. They're really dedicated to saving the retired racers.

My girl Weyburn is a retired racer and she is a really sweet and laid back dog! I encourage people to adopt greys.

I hope a lot of them get adopted to good homes. They deserve a good life with people that love them.

This is awesome. The police departments should do something like this with retired German Shepherds.

I agree; they are beautiful, elegant, and mild-mannered. I am glad that more of them are being adopted as opposed to being destroyed after their racing days are over. Thank-you Boston for this event that you are sponsoring.
