Maggie Lancaster, PA 9/10/2009 5:30:41 AM I think I'll withold judgement till I see the show. BTW, to the person who commented on what if this was done with kids. Well it often is, without the TV cameras. It's called Foster Care. Many families, my own included, take in foster kids...only to adopt the one thats the right fit. While you don't always have 8 kids in your home at once, you may have 8 go through the doors before you decide to adopt.
Sharon Houston, TX 5/27/2009 8:43:53 AM I am SO disappointed in HGTV for sponsoring this show. If we are to do this, then why not go to an orphanage and put 8 children in a home to compete as to who gets to be adopted? Animals are the most forgiving, loving creatures and will do almost anythig to please. It doesn't matter that they will all find a home - this is just exploitation, plain and simple. I LOVE dogs and animals, but this is just not right. Is this really the image HGTV wants to present?
Ako Houston, TX 5/26/2009 2:25:41 PM This is disgusting. A dog is a pack animal and you are going to take innocent dogs that do not understand what is going on, make them a part of the pack and then one by one yank them out of the family. I will do everything in my power to make sure people do not watch this, complain to the show sponsors and boycott them. What brainless idiot thought this up?
Jaimie Great Falls, MT 5/3/2009 6:10:32 PM I am sickened by this show. This is why the rest of the world hates us. Any dog lover should be ashamed of this show; the distress it brings to the dogs is awful. Any parent should be ashamed of this show; the distress it brings to the children is awful. If you want to bring awareness to shelters watch how other countries do it. In England they have a show that trains dogs in shelters and shows them off whilst doing it. In Germany they have very strict rules and guidelines to adopt a pet including a follow up and home visit before hand. I take my dog ownership very seriously but that was because I was brought up and taught to respect and love animals. This show DOES NOT DO THIS.
Erica Mckinney, TX 4/25/2009 4:11:07 PM This is a horrific idea for a tv show. While it is raising awareness for dog shelters, it is showing dogs as being dispensible. Animals should not have to compete for humans affection. Whats next? People adopting 10 children and eliminating one each week? This is an awful idea and should not be praised.
Karen Lexington, KY 4/24/2009 10:42:38 AM This is an EXCELLENT awareness tool....it encourages people to adopt pets and be careful in their selection of choosing them! With so much unwholesome garbage on TV, this is at least healthy and family friendly. It teaches people that there is more to having a pet than meets the eye.
becky chicago, IL 4/21/2009 9:31:46 AM While it is important to bring attention to shelter dogs, this is a horribly disgusting way to do it. Dogs are not people -- they don't handle rejection the same way. To toy with them, giving them the impression they're with their new "forever" family only to be sent away is cruel and could cause behavior problems. I am so offended by the premise of this show and extremely disappointed that one of my more favorite networks would do something like this.
Debbie Maryland Heights, MO 4/15/2009 8:54:53 AM I think the show sounds like it will be fun to watch. I'm looking forward to it.
Lisa Totowa, NJ 4/11/2009 7:20:38 AM I am very excited to see this show!!!! Every dog is put into a great home!! What is wrong with that?? More people may even get their dogs from shelters after this show is aired! Can't wait!!
molly mahwah, NJ 4/10/2009 3:10:46 PM leader of the pack is the best show in history i should know i am molly reckseit, the girl who is in the show
Sean West Milford, NJ 4/10/2009 6:11:22 AM "No tears, though – each dog is found a loving home." There is nothing "cruel or stupid about this"...maybe it will help raise awareness of shelter dogs and people may look into adopting more..it does sound like a cute show and I will be tuning in.
Galadriel Lothlorien, ME 4/5/2009 7:34:09 PM This is really stretching people's attention span. I think the human reality shows are bad enough.
kayla chicago, IL 4/4/2009 2:43:50 PM i think it is very sad that all these dogs are tricked into thinking they have a home and then kicked out just for the amusement of humans.
