This good to know, but they dont have meals on wheels in Alabama yet . The cost these day for heartworm meds checkup's and shot's, is way to high, Dog food is to, thats why the pounds are full. I Took my dog to have her spayed vet told me 143.00, a hour after I left, called me said I need to do a blood test make sure she's alright, I said ok, he said that will be 42.00 a few mre minutes went by called again said we need to do heart worm check, I said she doesn't have heartworms well we need to check and that's 20.00 I got her home nothing for pain no shot nothing, she was in pain alnight, next day I went after pain meds he said no charge ! A month later I went back in for heart worm meds I got billed for the pain pills he said dont worry about 25.00. To have her spayed cost me 250.00 ! To much outragus !!!!!!!!!

Sure wish there was assistance in Spartanburg SC. I'm waiting on my disability to be approved and am avid about making sure my dog has the best care. I do go to our local shelter, which does give discounts to people like me, but it's still hard sometimes to come up with the money for monthly heartworm meds, check ups, and shots.

I think that these Pet Food Banks are wonderful and very effective! Animals are in just as much need as humans are today! I thank you to all of the people who are making an effort to make this world a better place for all! <3 Nina

I am a pet rescue going for my non profit status and I am going to try to start a pet food bank in my community. There are a lot of people out there who need help with feeding their pets. I think it is a great thing!
