Tristan Fairfax, VA 11/30/2010 11:37:48 AM you could have upload the pictures to www.guessmybreed.com to get a good idea of what kind of breed they were
Cynthia Roundup, MT 4/27/2010 6:27:54 AM Pony boys ears are a combination of basset and pom.Thats what MIXED means. It amazes me how many KNOW so much more than the test results. As for the comments where "no maltese mated with a dalmation briard"...perhaps a large male maltese and a willing smaller dalmation. I have seen the results of such determined breeding.M neighbor had a chihuahua male breed her basset when the female lay down to accomodate him.Stranger things have happened.
Kathleen Delaware, OH 4/10/2010 10:21:56 AM pony boy's ears do not match any of the breeds mentioned. i believe his ears come from italian greyhound.
Stephanie La Grange, CA 3/29/2010 8:55:56 PM I guessed Otterhound for Oliver, but knowing that Otterhounds are so rare, I can see why that didn't come up. I believe there are only a few hundred left.
Jaime LA, CA 3/28/2010 9:06:07 PM OBVIOUSLY Pony Boy is Chihuahua/Jack Russell, people!!!! At LEAST Chiehuahua!!! Please vote for Diggity! (he is the only Diggity on DC. -He's a border Collie-.)
Lance Chicago, IL 11/9/2009 10:52:55 AM Could someone tell me what kind of results a dog would get if it were (known to be) a non-AKC breed, like a Black Mouth Cur (which my neighbor has) from a known parentage of at least a dozen generations (of black mouth cur)?
Kay Springfield, OR 9/20/2009 7:43:57 PM I think these tests have a way to go before they can be depended on. Oliver has rounded, droopy ears and long hair on his face. Malamutes, Huskies and Collies have pointed, erect (or tipped) ears and smooth faces. There is something(s) else in the mix. The test is not identifying all the breeds in his ancestry. I agree with Dalmatian in the first dog -- they have distinctly short, smooth, coats, and when mixed, the offspring are primarily shiny black, not white with black spots. No Dalmatian or Briard mated with a tiny Maltese though, so again, there is at least one breed of intermediate size that is missing from their database. Pony Boy's eyes and ears can easily be Pug. The eyes could also be Pomeranian. Basset might explain his length to height ratio and liver nose. In this dog I see no strong evidence against the accuracy of the test results. The test is only as good as the database, which means the database must include ALL lines of ALL breeds to be accurate, but it's only about 175 breeds from a few KNOWN lines of AKC dogs in the USA. That leaves most dogs out. The results aren't lying. They just aren't yet able to give the full story.
Amy Willingboro, NJ 9/18/2009 5:10:09 PM Obviously you are all wrong these are the breeds guiness-labrador retriever, border collie, jack russell oliver- otter hound, golden retriever mix Pony Boy- jack russell, chihuahua
Martin Philadelphia, PA 9/18/2009 5:01:06 PM Pony Boy is obviously not those mixes. Coming from a proffesional breed guesser (if that's what it's called) Pony Boy appears to be a jack russell chihuahua mix. the jack russell is the coloring and is stout chihuahua body and face are obviously chihuahua
kristie fountain inn, SC 9/17/2009 12:06:26 AM guinness: is a boxer/lab mix oliver:chow mix pony boy: is a chawawa/doberman pincher

malorie Waterloo, IL 6/25/2009 7:42:56 AM Guiness- Lab/Border Collie Oliver- Irish Wolfhound/Otterhound Pony Boy- Chihuahua/Jack Russel Terrier
MargiGrace Great Falls, MT 6/15/2009 12:12:58 PM Seriously guys, get the "Dog Bible". My guesses are: Guinness-Great Dane/Laborador, Oliver-Irish wolfhound/Griffon, Pony Boy-Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound. Bone structure: Guinness-Laborador, Oliver-Irish wolfhound, Pony Boy-Italian Greyhound. Coat: Guinness-Great Dane, Oliver-Griffon, Pony Boy-Chihuahua. I couldn't decide whether or not to put soft coated Wheaton terrier in Oliver, too, so I didn't. I didn't think of Beagle for Pony Boy and wouldn't disagree. Dachshund however, no no no. His ears are totally Italian Greyhound. Check out my Sadie Sue's page to see an Italian Greyhound matched with a Powderpuff Chinese Crested. (More pics at the bottom of the page.) Bone structure: Italian Greyhound. Coat/skin: Chinese Crested.
Ashley Fort Hood, TX 6/9/2009 3:46:00 AM Guinness looks like a Beagle/lab mix. Pony Boy looks like a chihuahua/terrier mix. and Oliver looks like a Lab/terrier mix.
Amanduah Berrien Springs, MI 6/4/2009 8:09:54 AM Are you kidding me? Lab and Husky. Come on know your stuff!
Hafe Akron, OH 5/22/2009 9:32:11 AM I think if Oliver was standing like the other two it would be easier to guess.
irock coop, PA 5/18/2009 8:46:00 AM wow. you guys should actually know some dog breeds before you guess.
Sue Three Oaks, MI 4/19/2009 3:52:44 AM Guiness has got to be a lab mix...maybe w/Beagle? Oliver looks like a Bearded Collie mix, & Pony Boy looks like a Fox Terrier mixed w/Lab.
