Judy Oak Lawn, IL 8/27/2009 5:13:00 AM It's about time the courts see the animals as more than property
Gary Turnmount, LA 5/1/2009 7:38:52 PM I hope other states rule that animals are worth more than their monetary value. They are priceless.
karen little rock, AR 5/1/2009 6:56:36 PM Not going to happen..but if my husband and i were to divorce we would have joint custody and or visitation rights..It's only fair for the pet also. They are part of the family!!
Susan Phoenix, AZ 5/1/2009 6:17:55 PM First of all, why did they have to spend $1,500 on a dog (apparently from a breeder) instead of going to an animal shelter to adopt a pet. By adopting even 1 dog from a shelter, they could have actually saved 2 dogs. To me, that's more impressive than having someone tell me how much they spent on a pet that they just bought from a breeder I feel sorry for any pet who has to go through a family situation like this. Not knowing what either one of the couple is like, the man sounds pretty selfish not to give the dog back when his ex-fiance returned from vacation. The important thing is hopefully the dog is with whomever will give it the best care. Who knows! Maybe neither one of them deserve the dog!
Shelly B Lancaster, CA 5/1/2009 10:20:11 AM I feel bad for the woman, and that well she lost her dog, I think it was low of the man to just keep the dog, they had to have a friendly relationship for her to trust him. I am glad that pets are given an extra value.
stacy Bel Air, MD 5/1/2009 7:48:01 AM I think that is great news, these are our babies and we would do anything for them. They are not a posession.
Moonlight Henrico, VA 5/1/2009 5:12:33 AM THANK GOD!!! It took long enough. Those are my kids, not my 'pets'
S 3 oaks, MI 5/1/2009 1:50:27 AM It's always hard when it comes to pets. It's really a shame when people have to go to court over something like this.
Michele Freeport, IL 4/30/2009 2:48:26 PM This is an interesting article. It's good to see the Pug has 2 parents who care for him so dearly. And that the courts are not just considering the monetary value of the animal.
