Karen Ipswich, SD 10/21/2011 5:25:22 AM The Miniature Saint Bernard was not bred the way that this article is suggesting. Like most Miniature breeds, such as the Miniature Schnauzer, it was developed by crossbreeding. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miniature_Schnauzer Saint Bernards are beautiful, nobel breeds! Many people love their looks! But not everyone can have, or wants, such a huge dog! The Miniature Saint Bernard was bred so that more people can enjoy this wonderful breed! They are also bred to be easier to have as housedogs. They are also bred very carefully for health and temperament, as well as looks! The Basset Hound, for example, as sweet as they are, do have many, many health problems. www.minisaintbernards.com
erica north highlands, CA 7/29/2011 6:13:23 PM it is ture that saint bernads can be a little high maintnents sometimes because of their large size but, tring to turn a big breutiful dog like the saint bernard into a small creature is just wrong in my opinion.
saint bernard lover somewhere, LA 8/2/2009 8:46:41 AM It is ridiculous to try downsizing these beautiful dogs. These dogs are called gentle giants for a reason. It is the size of them that make them what they are "Big and Beautiful". I owned saint bernard dogs for many years. They are the best!!!
