I can see where they thought that this would be a good idea. Too many dogs means too many to take care of, too many to keep an eye one, too many to feed, blah blah blah. Yes. This can help. But when you think about it, it doesn't really matter. One person with just one pet can abuse, over breed, and neglect it. I have to say, at least they are trying, but maybe they can try a little harder.

I don't think that the govt. should dictate how many animals a reputable breeder can have. However, the facilties should be monitored and checked on a routine basis to make sure the animals are properly cared for, socialized and not just kept in cages "producing" puppies and kittens for the "owners" monitary gains. These are lives that are given into our "care". They should be loved and nurtured and their lives should be enriched as they enrich our lives.

that stinks. it doesn't matter how many animals you have as long as you care for and socialize them properly. i agree with the akc. i hope this bill doesn't pass.

I think that the government should not be involved in these issues except for ensuring that the facility is clean and humane.

I think this is a good law. I disagree with the whole idea of breeders anyways, so I am perfectly okay with this law, they should add it to TX..
