As a responsiblepet owner I believe this proposl of a tax deduction for pet owners would be very help and I would support it. It is very expensive to be a responsibe...pet owner just like having children. So why shoul'nt we get a tax deduction

I think it's a great idea. As a responsible pet owner, my dogs receive wellness check ups every 6 months and all vaccinations are updated at that time. Their teeth are also cleaned once a year. As tough as times are, I will not give up the care they deserve.

The best new law(the exception of any laws banning all puppy mills.) In these rough times it would be a God send for alot of folks

I truly hope this passes.I know our shelters here in Illinois are overwhelmed with abandoned pets that families can no longer afford to care for due to job losses and the economy. This would really help out alot.

This is the best news I have heard lately. It would certainly encourage owners of pets to take better care of them. I have seen a lot of people I know struggle and actually deprive themselves to care for their beloved pets.

Since our pets are members of the family, they should get all the benefits that the rest of the family gets. I don't see why it wouldn't pass

How about just not charging tax for necessary pet products?

This would be a good thing. I hope it gets there is an effort to organize people to contact their legislators to support this bill. I volunteer at our local humane shelter and we are inundated with pets as people can no longer care for them or just leave them whenever they move, etc. I, myself, have 7 dogs with one of them being diabetic, so the amount I spend on pet care at times can be overwhelming. So I hope this passes.

This is the first I've heard of this. I wish it would ge more publicity so pet lovers could contract their legislative representatives and voice support for this House bill. It would also be nice to write Rep. Cotter and let him know we thank him for his support of this bill to help animals.
