Sue Three Oaks, MI 7/22/2010 5:46:58 AM Obviously there must be too many problems with puppy mills, etc. Any existing pet stores should have to follow rigorous guidelines. I wish everyone would rescue a dog or cat...maybe pet stores could be required to sell rescues as well as purebreds!
Nicole Lebanon Junction, KY 7/21/2010 9:48:17 AM I think that is very good and that it is about time that someone do something. I think that there are plenty of healthy and amazing pets in animal shelters or breed rescues that need homes. I got my dog from the animal shelter and she is awesome.
Karen San Antonio, TX 7/21/2010 3:49:47 AM If people want to buy a pet then either go to the pound, breed specific rescues or go to an ethical breeder of that breed, you can find ethical breeders at club sites and they will normally tell you where the breeders are in that state. Go to the pet store for food, treats etc, there are too many stores getting their animals from puppy mills and until you have seen that sadness that it brings you really have no clue.
Galadriel Lothlorien, ME 7/20/2010 10:53:14 PM I disagree. I think that you should be able to buy pets from petstores. But... they should be rigourously regulated.
Noah Altoona, PA 7/20/2010 10:35:28 PM I think it should be stopped too. The sad thing is that there's a place around where I live that does that. But I also think that people should give puppy mill puppies a chance and get a puppy to help the puppies that are born in places like that. They would probably end up on the streets if they get too big for the stores to care someone has to take care of them. Then eventually, and hopefully the puppy mills will be put out of business and then if those pups aren't bought or adopted they would die on their own. I totally agree with shut down the sales.
Emily Crystal City, VI 7/20/2010 4:28:36 PM I LOVE THIS! ELIMINATE SALES OF DOGS AND CATS IN PET STORES! Puppy mills breed cruelty! :(
Camrie Youngsville, NC 7/20/2010 2:16:39 PM finally someones taking a further step to eliminate kitten and puppy mills
TC Houston, TX 7/20/2010 12:12:06 AM Maybe this will help end the puppy an kitty mills or at least put a big dent in it!
