Very informative. I currently understand most of these signals in my puppy, but will be aware of the others as my puppy continues to get older and becomes more socialized and placed in many other different situations.

This was extremely informative. I love the idea of going to the dog park alone first to see how the other dogs interact. I am going to do this. I have been afraid to take my little Maltese. Thanks!!

Good stuff... so many parents don't teach their kids about dog safety. I think with 77 million (registered) dogs in the US, I think perhaps kids should briefly be taught about dog safety... like stranger danger and fire drills.

Not just good - IMPORTANT info... a lot of people don't realize they MUST back off a tensed up dog whether or not it growls. People also don't realize it's not smart to "argue" with a growling dog. Back off, let it outside or simply leave the room, then correct the behavior when the dog is CALM and so are you. A growl is a warning... and so is a tensed up dog... especially if the dog HAS been corrected NOT to growl. A growl is a GOOD warning to BACK OFF that is much easier to read than a tensed up dog, arguably and in my opinion.

This was magnificent! It really brought to the fore what I see in my schnauzer. But if also helped me to see what was behind some of his communication habits. Thanks so much.
