Nothing feels like it helps when it happens.

It's losing a member of the family! It hurts so bad! Any pet always hurts. I have lost dogs and birds! My children!

We lost our beloved rescued male Irish Setter two years ago. He was under treatment for hemolytic anemia, when he bloated & then torsed. As a result, there was no viable treatment option other than to help him over the Rainbow Bridge. We were totally devastated. We did find a couple of good sites on line---www.rainbowsbridge.com; critters.com. Also, the site www.bestfriends.org---go into the network link. There is a group in there--"Prayers, healing & support.." Those were all and still are very helpful for us.

Interesting comments. Each of us react differently to loss, therefore there is no one correct approach. Support groups can be very helpful.
