I use a mix of both methods for my dog, Bolt. I dissagree with ignoring our dog's bad behavior. I think this because we ignore our dogs alot but that doesn't mean that their behavior is bad. Dogs can get really confused with things like that. By the way, leave a comment on my dog, Bolt's page and I will leave 2 free training tips; as a comment on your page. This is part of my campain for dog of the month.
.
Thanks,

I believe in positive reinforcement. I find negative reinforcement rather mean to the dog and as an animal lover, I find it not a good way to teach an animal to do something. Some trainers even tell you to throw keys or spray water at your dog if it does something wrong. Not a good idea, in my opinion! :/

Last Question on Quiz is incorrect - taking something away that the dog desires is negative punishment. Taking away something the dog dislikes (standing still or leash pressure) to reward a behavior (loosening the leash, walking slower) is negative reinforcement.

Cool class. I needed this information. I finally understood your explanation of using a clicker.

Positive reinforcement is where I stand but I still think punishment works at times. Punishment meaning a stern voice or a light smack. Dogs don't need anything more severe than that to feel bad and get the message.

hey guys there seems to be a problem with the quiz on dog college 200 dog training theories. the question that asks who's work positive reinforcement training is based on. I put in the correct answer but it still comes up as incorrect.
