Leslie Braintree, MA 5/14/2012 1:42:26 PM The information provided in this article is very helpful and easy for the dog owner to follow. Dogs are like children, if the owners show responibility for thier pet they would be a welcomed part of society.
PATRICIA CENTREVILLE, VA 3/23/2012 6:31:15 PM THANKS FOR YOUR LEASH-TRAINING TIP, I.E., WAIT THREE SECONDS, STEP BACK IF PULLING CONTINUES, THEN CONTINUE UNTIL SHE REALIZES PULLING DOESN'T WORK! WE WILL TRY THIS NOW WITH OUR LITTLE SHIH TZU!
Carole Sunrise, FL 11/3/2010 8:34:30 AM I agree with all but #7 about the retractable leash. If you use one, your dog becomes the "alpha dog" and you are never in control. I'm quite sure dog trainers do not use them. I occasionally care for a 60 lb., very strong dog and use a regular leash to save my life! His owner, however, uses a retractable which I refuse to use. I'm trying to teach this dog to "heel" and am making slow progress. In my opinion there is nothing good to say about a retractable leash.
Pamela Smithtown, NY 9/20/2007 7:37:16 AM Remember to make sure your dog can handle the distance for your run.....just like you your dog has to train to go the distance and speed!
Moose Casper, WY 9/1/2007 12:21:10 PM this article helped me a ton! I am going to start walking my dogs more!
