Brenda Bosco Placentia, CA 2/2/2012 1:22:58 PM Thank you so much. I have 3 Shih Tzu's. Mom and 2 of her pups. I cannot afford to take all three to the groomers and they are in dire need of a clipping. This helps tremendously. Thank you
Joanne Elk Grove Village, IL 1/3/2011 8:33:16 PM I stopped giving my shih tzu treats that contained red dye, and his tear stains went away. I check everything that I feed him to make sure that it contains no red dye. I had previously read that some shih tzus are allergic to the red dye in foods and treats.
Mary Redondo Beach, CA 12/29/2010 5:30:00 PM Just exactly what I wanted to know in regard to grooming my little Shih Tzu man. He is matted and needs more regular care than he's getting. This encourages me to try grooming at home. Thank you.

Cooki Laurel, MS 4/8/2008 8:27:06 AM I have recently adopted a shih tzu, and she seems to be matting profusly.. I have had to cut her almost down to the skin in places just to relive the skin from pain. What is the best way to keep her from matting? I never had this problem with her matting until the vet had to shave her down to the skin due to a severe rotwilerand pit bull attack. Since her new hair has grown in she is matting badly, and I brush her daily. She is very sensitive in the places that the drain tubes were put in. any suggestions?
