I have been graced to have had three Amstaffs in my life. Asher being my newest. My other two, Hati is currently living with my elder cousin as a companion and home protector, and Sable who unfortunately due to a myriad of health problems, passed away. The love, affection, and loyalty of these dogs has warmed my heart. As a responsible pet parent I gladly promote their breed, and make every attempt possible to re-educate people who are brainwashed by the negative image this and other "pit bull" breed dogs get due to the media and bad owners. I will never own another breed.

I just recently rescued my little girl Korra. I was raised on a farm in Ohio and was around all types of breeds from hunting dogs to our prize German Shepard. Korra has proven to be a gem! She is a growing 4 month old and extremely smart. When I first saw her in the animal control adoption center, like many I thought "cute but a Pit Bull" comes with all the "bad media" and constant ridicule. I am now proud to say that I am happy that I did not let the media hype and negative commentary sway my decision to adopt this lovable, smart, kind, playful, sweet pup. We look forward to being an advocate for helping to open the mind of all who come in contact with Korra to help them understand the amazing joy this breed can bring to those who take the time to build that trust and bond.

I would like to add that Bull would make a great rescue dog. He has a heck of a nose. He likes to pick up dog's scents and follow them all the way to their house. Once he gets in front of the house he smells the air and walks off. Then another scents hits him. On walks he looks like a blood hound with his nose to the
ground.
Please help me with my baby. Many tears have been shed. But I know I he needs a more knowledgeable parent.

I am posting a plea to find my beautiful Amstaff Bull a new home. He is almost 2 and he is a snuggler and a hugger. The problem is I have also an 8 year old dachshund Buddy that is diabetic and has cushings. The cost is very high. They get along most of the time. Buddy however is crazy about food and anything associate with it. I leave in the Houston Texas area. I do not want either to get hurt. I am not equiped to handle such a beautiful strong dog. I took Bull because he almost died several times. It is now time to find him a home where he can live and enjoy life. Please help. Several people want him but I am afraid he will be used as a guard dog or fighting dog and just chained in back yard. He chases cats. He does need some socializing.

The above article says most can't stand up to the hype and give up the dog (AmStaff) - that's too bad. I would NEVER give up my dog because of what others think! I advocate for my dog whenever I can or whenever I HAVE to! If you don't like my dog, then I don't like YOU! It's as simple as that! My dog isn't going ANYWHERE! She is in her loving furever home and will stay here!

I have put up with people yelling comments, dirty looks etc. We moved last year, and the most I've experienced is people walking their dog cross the street when they see my Sasha (Amstaff). It doesn't make me angry, but sad, because Sasha is barking at them (also whining) because she wants to play. We take her to the dog park on the weekend, and she plays nice with all breeds, from a Poodle to a Great Dane!! There are several who have ventured over while walking their dog to say hi and let their dog meet mine, but most are still ignorant and believe the media hype. In a way I understand, because there are still alot of irresponsible owners who give this awesome breed a bad name. Sad but true.
