No Dog Scraps at the Table

What to do with a fussy dog who won't eat her regular dog food.

Q. I am 10 years old and own a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. My dad got her hooked on table scraps, and now she won't eat dry dog food. What should I do?

A. Mix some of the table scraps with a little dry dog food. Gradually switch from table scraps to a couple of spoonfuls of canned dog food mixed with the kibble. She can stay with that for life. Lots of dogs don't like a bowl of biscuits every day. The important thing is not to feed a dog anything when you are sitting at the table. Save the scraps for the dog's dinner dish. If your dad still wants to be the giver of goodies, let him teach the dog some tricks to earn a food reward.

what about different kinds of fish, are there any that are not good for dogs. Can dog food does work well when you add it to dry dog food, I did that with my pug to get her off table scraps.
