Park Description

A new and exciting outdoor fenced-facility has
been constructed for dog lovers and their dogs.
The City of Ames now offers an opportunity for
dogs to play “off-leash” in a designated 10-acre dog park.
The Dog Park is comprised of two areas: a 2-acre area for dogs less than 25 pounds and an 8-acre area for larger dogs.
To utilize the Dog Park owners must provide a
current rabies vaccination certification and purchase a Facility Use Permit Tag.

Comments:
Lots of room for the dogs to run and play. 8 acres for large dogs, 2 acres for small dogs. This park will continue to get better as it evolves. The city is planning additional benches, trees, etc in the coming months.
